The Amber Fort is also known as the Amer Palace in common usage. The Rajput Maharajas lived at the palace with their family. When Raja Man Singh vanquished the Raja of Jessore’s Best Places to Visit in Kota, the goddess Shila Devi, a deity of the Chaitanya religion, was bestowed upon him. Raja Man Singh had 12 queens, thus he constructed 12 apartments, one for each Queen. The king’s chamber was accessible from each room through a stairway.

Maharani Jodha Bai, wife of the Great Mughal Emperor Akbar belonged to the Kachhawa clan of Rajput. She was the eldest daughter of Raja Bharmal of Amber.

This fort has been built in the 16th century by the Kachhawaha clan of Rajput. They have destroyed the old prior structure of the amber fort which was built by the Meena clan. Then they started the construction of this amber fort again. The construction of this palace was initiated by Raja bharmal and Raja Man Singh. The construction of this magical palace came to an end over the period of two centuries and was completed after the consistent efforts of three kings.

This palace is located in the range of the Aravalli hills of Jaipur. Amer palace is well known for its Rajput architectural design There are six distinct yet major portions of the palace, each with its own entry gate and courtyard. The Suraj Pol (Sun Gate), which leads to the first major courtyard, is the primary entrance. Armed forces would stage victory parades here when they brought back their war loot after victories, and the womenfolk of the Royal family would watch from the latticed windows. Given that it was the primary entrance to the palace, this gate was constructed especially for it and was guarded. It had an easterly orientation, thus the name. Through this gate, nobles and royal cavalcades entered the palace. The Arabic word “Jaleb Chowk” refers to a gathering area for troops. This is one of Amer Palace’s four courtyards, which was constructed during Sawai Jai Singh’s rule (1693–1743 AD). Under the direction of the army commander, or Fauj Bakshi, the personal bodyguards of the Maharaja marched through this area. The Maharaja was used to examine the group of guards. The guards resided in the upper-level chambers of the horse stables, which were next to the courtyard.
